The evolving balance of regional powers, geopolitical signalling, threat of terrorism, peace-time operations and technology innovation are driving an unprecedented growth in defence spending all over the world, with some of the largest growth coming from the Asia Pacific region.
Asia Pacific accounted for more than US$40 billion worth of arms purchases during the first half of this decade and expected to double of the next half, making this region the world’s largest defence market.
With this in mind, the Land Defence Pavilion at Singapore Airshow 2008 serves as an international platform for land defence contractors, manufacturers as well as technologyand service providers to showcase their latest products and innovations.
Though the Land Defence Pavilion has always been a part of the past airshows held in Singapore, what makes it more unique this time round is the addition of a landscaped mobility park which allows unmanned vehicle systems and land defence vehicles to run demonstrations on-site.
